25/26 Story Time
September 10, 2025 - First day of "Story Time" was a total success. There were familiar faces from last year and several new faces attending. Miss Denise welcomed everyone by asking them their name, age and where they lived. The theme of the day was the color Red and shapes. They sang along with "Hello Neighbor", "Acorn, I 'm a Nut", "Five Little Ducks", and "Little Miss Muffet". Miss Denise read "Pete the Cat" and the "Little Blue Truck". The craft was "Back to School" magnets. Hope to see everyone next Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
September 17, 2025 -Several new faces joined us today for "Story Time". The songs they sang (and some danced to) were "Opposites", "Fishing". and "Hello Neighbor". Miss Denise read "The Big Red Hen" and talked to the group about the color red and the circle and square shapes. The group is working on learning their full name, names of their parents and the town they live in. Richard Hutchinson was a special guest today and brought a few of his prize chickens. He explained the different types of chickens and all the different colors of eggs they lay.
September 24, 2025 -Another great group of children at "Story Time". They are still working with the color "red" and getting to know their name and addresses. Miss Denise talked about all the different professions of "Community Helpers", firemen, police officers, nurses, teachers, construction workers and support dogs. We had two special guest, John Kiley, Beaver County Police officer and Krista Bennett, Library Board Member, with her support dog. For their craft they colored a picture of a fire engine. Thank you notes were decorated with stickers and signed, which will be delivered to the county police officer, nurses and firemen.
October 1, 2025 - Bugs and Butterflies were the topic at "Story Time" today. Miss Denise had several bugs and spiders she had collected and mounted on a poster and a jar with a few live bees and honeycomb for the group to talk about. To begin the day, they start off with a little exercise by singing and dancing along with "The Fishing Song", "Hello Neighbor" and "Wally Ocha". The books read were "First Look at Insects" and "Bee Dance". The craft was making bug or butterfly magnets.
October 8, 2025 - Story Time started today with Miss Denise asking each child their name and where they live. Then they sang along with several nursery rhymes. The theme was all about birds and the color orange. Miss Denise read "What is a Bird" and then everyone went outside to make bird feeders. The feeders were made by covering pinecones in peanut butter and then rolling them in bird seed. The last thing today was for the children to find the color orange in the mural on the wall.
September 9, 2025 Today was a great start for the "Adult Exercise Program" with a group of excited women ready to get started. Denise started them with several stretching exercises. The class ended with everyone enjoying some lemon- or lime-flavored water. Come in every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and enjoy good company and get you feel-good day started. We may even have some healthy snacks and recipes for you at the end of the class.
September 16 The class started with basic stretching exercises. They worked on arms, legs and core. There was bottle water or lemon water available at the end of the class.
September 23, 2025 - Another great group attending the "Adult Exercise Program". Denise had Elvis's music playing while the ladies worked on their stretching, strengthening and balance exercises. This is a good program for anyone wanting to strengthen their muscles and work on maintaining good balance. At the end of the class there is always water and occasionally a healthy snack. The class is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and last for approximately one hour and cost nothing except a little bit of your time.
September 30, 2025 - Everyone in the "Adult Exercise Class" is starting to notice a little change in the way they feel. There have been a few new ladies come and join in the fun.
October 4, 2025 - Camber Cline was the guest speaker at the "Adult Exercise" class. She had them doing chair exercises using weights. They learned new exercises to improve the strength and mobility in their legs, arms, back and hands. There was bottled water and protein snacks available after class.
2025 Summer Reading Program
June 5th was the beginning of the 2025 Summer Reading Program. The Mad Scientist was the presenter, using several of the children in his presentation. Denise reviewed and handed out several Scholastic books along with other prizes.
June 12 - The First Responders for Beaver County were the presenters. The Sheriff, Fire Department, EMT and city Police were all represented. Each giving a talk on safety and letting everyone visit their vehicles.
June 19 - Lots of children and parents here to enjoy Inspyral Circus at the Summer Reading Program! We saw juggling, unicycle riding and learned how to hoolahoop! Denise ask trivia questions and gave away books and balls!
June 26th will be our last day of the program.
June 26th was the last day of the Summer Reading Program. Everyone received a sack lunch to begin the afternoon's program. The presenter was Seth with The Mad Scientist group. Denise handed out the last of the give-a-way gifts. The grand prize winners were selected from the sheets turned in with the names of the books read during the month. Emma Delk was the winner of the Tablet and Haylee Abbott was the winner of the bicycle.
